一、氣體的爆炸下限與溫度有關。通常，溫度愈高，反應速度愈快，爆炸范圍愈大。當進入催化燃燒裝置的廢氣濃度過大時，催化燃燒裝置的溫度將會升高，加之自前國產催化燃燒裝置均未設置廢氣濃度檢測和控制設備，而溫度升高后的廢氣的爆炸下限值將比手冊給出的值要小，再加上裝置中廢氣成分混合的不均勻性，在局部區域可能超過高溫條件下廢氣的真實爆炸下限，則有爆炸的危險。
